How Bravoora decides
Bravoora compares what a product’s label says with what is in your profile. Here is exactly how, and where it stops.
1. Where the information comes from
The product’s own label comes first: its ingredient list, allergen statements and “may contain” warnings. When we already know a product, we use its stored label details; when we don’t, or the label may have changed, we ask for a photo of the label.
2. How the check works
Bravoora reads each ingredient and statement, matches it to known names (for example, whey is milk and semolina is wheat), and compares the result with the profile you choose. The same rules apply to every product, so the same label always gets the same answer.
3. What each answer means
- Fits you: nothing on the label clashes with the profile.
- Heads up: the label has a warning, such as “may contain”, for something the profile avoids.
- Not for you: the label lists something the profile avoids.
- Needs one more scan: the label isn’t clear enough, so we ask for a photo instead of guessing.
4. The reason is always shown
Every answer points to the ingredient or statement it is based on, so you can check it on the pack yourself.
5. Limits you should know
- Recipes change and can differ by country, so the pack in your hand is the final word.
- Labels don’t always name the source of an ingredient, such as gelatin or lecithin.
- Bravoora gives general information, not medical advice. For allergies and health conditions, follow your doctor’s advice.
6. Corrections
If a result looks wrong, report it from the result screen or email us. We review reports and correct the product for everyone.
