What is couscous?
Couscous is made from durum wheat semolina, moistened and rolled into small pellets, then steamed and dried. It contains gluten, so it does not suit coeliac disease or a gluten-free diet, and it must be declared as wheat in the US, the UK, the EU and the Gulf. A few couscous-style products are made from corn, millet or rice; those name their grain on the pack.
How does Bravoora check for couscous?
Bravoora reads couscous and its larger kinds as wheat. It marks every couscous as wheat, so if a pack is made from corn or millet, check the ingredient list for the grain.
